Although I had a few problems with the text, I am glad there is a resource that attempts to reach out to children with epileptic parents. My children are too young to implement many of the steps described in the book but now they have an idea of how they can help. This is a good way to start the conversation about what children should do if they witness a seizure.Product details

My Daddy Has Epilesy, (paperbook) reaches out to the child, with easy understanding english. The book present epilesy in a form that will encourage the child to want to understand epilesy. So that, he or she can help the parent in dealing with epilesy in a loving and caring way. This book is a book that is simple and present issues of epilesy, to the family and children with encouragement to face life with difficulties but to live with them and to overcome. I greatly recommend this book to all family with children. I thank Stacey Chillemi for writing this book, it helped my child to deal with their father's epilesy.
It would have been a lot easier to explain things myself. It encourages kids to leave their parents and take off on their own while their parent is having a seizure regardless of the child's age. That is just the beginning of their wonderful advice. The portion of this book that the child is supposed to read is 25 pages and are mostly big pictures like the cover, and there are less than 20 paragraphs. I have spent over a thousand dollars on medical text books. Knowing what I do now, I would not pay a dollar for this book.
